What are the Harmful Effects of GHG Emissions in CA?

Here are some of the harmful effects, just to name a few:

- Ocean acidification due to CO2 rise
- Sea level rise (which will inundate communities and sewage treatment plants)
- changes in sea life
- extreme heat
- fire
- shrinking glaciers
- reduced spring runoff
- effects on agriculture due to reduced winter chill

Cupertino's Climate Action Plan is very comprehensive and has many steps which are underway to reduce GHG emissions.

Next year, the City Council will revisit and update the Climate Action Plan, and see where we can improve not just what the city itself can improve upon, but what the residents and business community can do.
